The Jayne's Experience
Before you arrive
When you book, tell us anything you already know — a shape you like, a designer you have saved, a budget you would rather not go past. If you know none of that, say so. It genuinely helps either way.
When you arrive
We will sit down for a few minutes first and talk about your wedding before anything comes off the rail. Your stylist stays with you for the whole appointment. She will pull gowns based on what you have told her, and a couple based on what she thinks you should try.
In the fitting room
Most brides get through eight or ten dresses. You will have help getting in and out of them, and clips so you can see how something would look in your size. Take photographs. Send them to whoever isn't with you.
When you find it
If it's the one, we will style the whole look — veil, shoes, jewellery — so you can see yourself properly. If it isn't, that is a perfectly normal appointment and we will book you back in.
SATURDAYS ONLY
The VIP Saturday
Two unhurried hours rather than ninety minutes. Fizz when you arrive for you and your three guests, an expanded pull of gowns with veils and accessories styled alongside them, and a goody bag when you say yes. £50, Saturdays only.

ACCESSIBILITY
The boutique is on the ground floor with one shallow step. We have a larger fitting room, an adjustable platform and step-free changing.

IF YOU NEED TO REARRANGE

Questions brides ask
Will I be pushed into buying?
No. Plenty of brides come for a first look and go away to think. We would rather you were sure.
What if nothing suits me?
It happens, and it usually means we haven’t found the right shape yet rather than that there isn’t one. We have around two hundred gowns and a stylist who has seen most body shapes there are.
Do I have to say my budget?
Only if you want to. It helps us pull the right rail rather than show you something you’d rather not fall in love with. Our gowns start at £599 and most sit between £1,500 and £2,500.
What size are the samples?
We hold samples from a UK 6 to a UK 32, so there should be something close to your size to try properly.
What should I wear?
Nude underwear you feel comfortable in, and shoes roughly the height you might wear. If you haven’t got either, don’t worry, we have shoes here.
Is it too early to come?
If you are more than eighteen months out we would usually say enjoy the engagement first, but there’s no harm in an early look. If your wedding is close, our Off the Peg rail leaves the same day.
Can I bring my mum and my sister and my best friend?
Three guests are included, so yes. Any more are £5 each. Smaller groups tend to be easier on the bride, but that’s your call, not ours.
Can I bring children?
Please do ask when you book. We have a quieter room next door.
Anything you'd like to know?
Ask us first. Whether we stock a designer you have saved, whether we can dress you for a date in March, what to do when everything on Pinterest has started to look the same. Tell us what’s on your mind and we’ll come back to you. No appointment needed, and no chasing afterwards unless you’d like us to.
